Kjibe, Inc. (pronounced key-bee) was founded in 1993 by Elmo Overseth. With a great idea and a limited amount of working capital, he set out to invent, patent, and manufacture a unique buffing pad that could be used by anyone to achieve a swirl-free finish that would be superior to a finish done by hand. By 1995 the company began focusing primarily on obtaining product patents for its Surbuf product line.

The Surbuf®, buffing pad featuring a vertical fiber structure was introduced in 1995 as the company's first commercial product. The Surbuf brand was expanded in 2001 to Surbuf® with MicroFingers® technology to fully brand the unique properties of the product and introduce the Surbuf line of products to the consumer market with new retail packaging. Our product line continues to grow and build on the initial concept with innovative ideas that make applying and buffing finishes to a variety of solid surfaces easy, fun and successful for all skill levels.
